Ho Chi Minh believed that Vietnam 's fight for independence from France was similar to the American colonies' struggle for independence from Great Britain.
Ho Chi Minh went to Moscow for the first time in 1922 to attend the Fourth World Congress of the Communist International and became one of the most energetic organizers of its Southeast Asia bureau.
Not only is he highly praised by communist countries and regimes, but he was also recognized by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most important people of the 20th Century.
Ho Chi Minh took the name in 1941 while returning to Vietnam from China, by using a stolen ID card with that name.
